The video followed the release of a reissue of William Onyeabor's music, an innovative afro-funk musician who mysteriously abandoned his career in the mid 80s and who's music was almost lost since then.
The album "Who is William Onyeabor", published by Luaka Bop, was the result of more than five years of research, trying to rescue the work of this forgotten legend and make his music available for the first time in over 20 years.
The video was made in a very short budget and just one month. The style references the classic of soviet animation "Ograblenie Po". The video references all the myths and contradictory rumours about the obscure life of William Onyeabor, who is believed to have studied cinema in the Soviet Union, attended Harvard and bought synthesisers in Sweden among many other adventures.
